Energy Star is a government program jointly promoted by U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, to better protecting life environment and save energy. Energy Star is proposed by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and promoted on computer appliances. Currently more than 30 product categories are included in the certification scope. E.g. household appliance, heating/cooling appliances, electronic appliances, lamps and so on.
Energy Star certification is one adapting to U.S. Department of Energy requirements and most welcome certification by America market customers for lamp products besides UL and FCC. UL reflects the product’s good safety performance, FCC reflects the product’s electromagnetic compatibility and Energy Star certification proves the product’s perfect energy saving performance.
Energy Star Certification Process:
1. the customer provides Energy Star certification information and application forms (in order to become Energy Star Partner)
2. applicant providers complete an application form
3. to submit samples and product information
4. Laboratory testing for samples
5. to submit test data and related documents
6. approved, sent a letter by Energy Star
7. paste Energy Star label on product
