Product Scope for SAI Certification
a) Regulated Electrical Appliances: it is mandatory for regulated products to obtain the certificate of approval issued by monitoring department. It should be noted that the certification process is only for the safety other than the performance or quality, unless related to safety. The first letter of the certificate license number indicates the licensing state or region.
b) Non-Regulated Electrical Appliances: for non-regulated products, while not mandatory to obtain certification, but the retailer or manufacturer should be responsible for the safety, may voluntarily apply for certification. The monitoring department will issue the certificate of Suitability for products compliance with standards requirements. The products with COS can be printed with licensing number.
