On January 27.2003, European parliament and European council have passed the 2002/95/EC directive, that is “The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment”, abbr. RoHS directive. The content includes: as from July 1st, 2006, restricting using the 6 kinds of hazardous substances like lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE.
Applicable products for RoHS directive
1. Electrical and electronic appliances within the scope of directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), Affix IA, clause 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10 and household lamps and lighting apparatus.
Large household appliances, small household appliances, information technology an remote communication equipment, consumer equipment, lighting equipment, Power tools, toys, entertainment and sport apparatus, medical equipment, monitoring equipment and vending machine.
2. This directive implement shall not conflict with the rules about safety and health requirements and about the waste management put forward by Europe Community.
3. This directive is not applicable to the parts, mending parts or recycle parts for the electrical and electronic appliances sold before July 1, 2006. |
