UL is the abbreviation of Underwriter Laboratories Inc. UL is the most authoritative in America, but also the large non-government institution for safety testing and identification.

UL Services
LISTED
In general, LISTED service only applies to the complete products and a variety of devices and equipment which replacement or installation need qualified personnel to operate on the spot, the products belonging to LISTED services include: Household appliances, medical equipment, computers, commercial equipment, and all types of electrical products operated in the building. Such as distribution systems, fuses, wires, switches and other electrical components.

Recognized
Recognized service is one project in UL services. The recognized object shall be used as component or raw material on the UL LISTED products, Classified products or other recognized products. Recognized products in structure is incomplete or have certain restrictions for use in order to guarantee the achievement of the expected safety performance. In most cases, the recognized products tracking services belong to Class R. The Class L recognized products include Electronic wire (AVLV2), processing wire (ZKLU2), harness (ZPFW2), Aluminum wire (DVVR2) and metal flexible tube (DXUZ2).

Classification
Classification service only evaluate the product specific hazard, or evaluate product implemented with standards other than UL standards (such as IEC, ISO standards). Generally most classified products are not for consumer use, but for industrial or commercial use. The Classification mark indicates the there are certain restrictions and regulated range when product UL identification.

Multi- LISTED/ Recognized/ Classification
The applicant can apply for multi listed, recognized or classification service if the product will be produced by another company for sale need.

“AL” LISTED/ Recognized/ Classification
If applicant will only use another name to apply for UL, he can apply for “AL” UL service.
