IRAM, founded in 1935. It is certification organization accreditation by OAA (Argentina Accreditation Organization) for electrical technology products, also recognized by government for compulsory certification products.
IRAM safety mark is Argentina compulsory certification mark (except for exempted products).
According to protocol 197/2004, S-mark compulsory certification applies for range of 50-1000VAC or 50-1500VDC of Electrical and electronic products, toys, personal protection products, elevators, lighters, children's bicycles, steel equipment for construction. The protocol regulates that the products must compliance with IRAM or IEC standards. (IRAM standards are mainly based on IEC and ISO international standards.
Products sold in Argentina market must award the national certification mark. The certified products can use “S” mark.
Documents provided for product certification
1. Applicants fill out the application form, provide the application form, product manuals and technical documentation and one prototype).
2. Laboratory to determine related standards and test items and quotation.
3. Applicant acknowledges pricing, send samples and related technical documents to our laboratory.
4. Technical documentation provided by the applicant.
5. Lab fees notice issued to the applicant, the applicant pay certification fees according to the fee notice.
6. Laboratory perform product testing and review of technical documents.

8. If inadequate technical documentation or not use the required language, laboratory will notify the applicant to improve.
9. 10 If the test failed, the laboratory will promptly notice the applicant, to allow the applicant to improve the product. So, specify the test pass. Applicant in response to the original application timely information to make changes in order to reflect the actual situation after the change.
